6 1/2 weeks folks. In 6 1/2 we will be on a plane to Chile. A little scary when you think about the fact that they keep having "aftershocks" measuring 7.0 (how is that considered an aftershock...i don't understand that). Regardless, we are so excited. I got my passport in the mail with my beautiful passport picture (why do they insist everyone look stupid in those pictures?) and i am so excited. I have already been to borders and started looking for a good Chile travel book to get myself prepared for this vacation and even bought a "Spanish phrases for dummies" although i don't expect that to help much. Needless to say, we can't wait to go. And here is one of the things i am looking forward to.
The biggest pool in the world (3,323 ft long)
It is more than 1,000 yards long, covers 20 acres, had a 115ft deep end and holds 66 million gallons of water.
Yeah.. those are sail boats. in the pool. How cool is that?! Its salt water that is pumped in from the ocean and filtered and cleaned (otherwise it might be impossible to keep clean with chlorine). I can't wait to go there. It isn't too far North from where we'll be staying. I hope the earthquake didn't do anything to this amazing pool, because i am looking forward to this!!
